Trong
sách có nhiều phần hấp dẫn như Sony là công ty hàng đầu về máy nghe nhạc, nhưng
Ipod của Apple ra đời đã thống lãnh thị trường, đẩy Sony vào chỗ khó khăn chỉ
trong thời gian ngắn. Microsoft cố gắng chế tạo máy nghe nhạc nhưng không thành
công cho lắm.
Trong
lĩnh vực điện thoại di động, Nokia là công ty lớn nhất nhưng Apple đã cố gắng
từ 2005 để tạo ra Iphone, đến 2011, Apple qua mặt Nokia về doanh thu! Microsoft
cũng cố làm Smartphone nhưng không thật sự thành công.
Sách
nói đến Google mời Steve Jobs làm giám đốc điều hành, nhưng Jobs không đồng ý.
Năm 2001 Google mời Eric Schmidt. Mấy năm sau, có lần Steve Jobs giận dữ bảo
Eric Schmidt tôi không cần tiền, có cho tôi 5 tỉ đô tôi cũng không chịu, hãy
thôi ngay việc ăn cắp bản quyền!
Kết thúc sách với sự
qua đời của Steve jobs 2011, tác giả nói về ông chủ Apple “ Steve Jobs was a
one-off” - Steve jobs là độc nhất vô nhị! ! Không biết sau khi Steve Jobs ra
đi, các thế hệ lãnh đạo Apple đi sau có thể thành công liên tiếp như ông không.
Cuộc chiến này tạm hình thành thế “chân vạc” 2011, Apple vượt lên đầu, trị giá $346.7
billion, Microsoft giảm đi 40% còn $214.3
billion, Google nhanh chóng tăng lên đến $185.1 billion.
Ba
công ty này mấy năm qua luôn nằm trong nhóm dẫn đầu thế giới về sáng tạo.
Mới
đầu năm 2014, trong TV của một kênh Hoa Kỳ có nói Google hiện là công ty đổi
mới nhất, hơn Apple.
Đọc
sách này cho ta thấy sự cạnh tranh quyết liệt giữa các công ty công nghệ cao,
sự “vô thường” chỉ 5-10 năm thôi là một công ty lớn có thể đứng trước nguy cơ
sụp đổ; những công ty nhỏ có thể vươn lên trở thành tập đoàn hàng đầu. Ước gì
nước nhà cũng có một công ty công nghệ cao sáng tạo như thế!
Mình
xin ghi lại những điểm chính cuốn sách về cuộc chiến công cụ dò tìm giữa Microsoft
và Google; giữa nhạc kỹ thuật số của Microsoft và Apple, rồi cuộc chiến trong
lĩnh vực Smartphones, rồi Tablets. Mong rằng nhà xuất bản nào đó dịch sách này
ra tiếng Việt sớm.
